"This letter is to express our gratitude for the Adopt-A-Mom and Pop Program. This program was truly a blessing to my mom during the COVID-19 shut down. My mom has been housebound for many years, only going to the doctor and her adult day center program. During her lifetime, she was always active in church and social activities. When she was unable to go out anymore, she looked forward to the calls from the volunteers to brighten her day. The volunteers and the Director, Ulmaria Williams contacted her on a regular basis and helped her not to feel disconnected from the world. Unfortunately, in August of 2020, she passed from Covid-19. However, AMAP sent cards, contacted the family and continues to offer spiritual support for our loss. We are grateful for the program and I highly recommend it. If additional information is needed, please contact me at (423) 760-0177."

Sincerely,
Karen M. Fletcher

daughter of Carolyn Lewis

Through the years it has been my privilege to watch Ulmaria work with the elderly. Her God given gift of love for them shines through as I see her sincere desire to bridge the gap between the elderly and the community. She has not only the vision, but also the ability and stamina to see it fulfilled with a compassionate heart for their needs.
